Shantou Linghai Plastic Co., Ltd., established in 1995, is a professional manufacturer of plastic packaging for food, drinks, gifts, and electronic products.


Prior to 2004, our main focus was the domestic market. However, faced with increasing domestic competition as well as the need for self-development, we decided to expand to the overseas market. We chose Alibaba.com as our platform for online business in 2004 and because it offers a shortcut for us to the world market.


In the same year, I joined Shantou Linghai Plastic Co., Ltd. to become the only export trader there. Though I had four-year experience in foreign trade, I was a freshman to online business and was unfamiliar with the plastic packaging industry.


Guessing my hesitation, the manager talked to me in an easy way: "It is great if we have orders, but it is also okay even if there is none. The most important thing is that we should try to do the best and conduct excellent communication with our clients."


With his encouragement and support, I started to learn how to upload product pictures, update product information, and reply to inquiries everyday. My efforts paid off when our company concluded many orders successfully within a few months. That achievement inspired us all!


There were only three plastic packaging companies on Alibaba.com at that time which reduced competition for us. We could also draw mould design papers and made samples in 3-5 days according to clients’ requests. Our efficient service and high-quality products were impressive to overseas clients. Our export business increased day by day through Alibaba.com. Now, we enjoy a workshop covering an area of 10,000 square meters, with 5 advanced extrusion lines including two-color extrusion line, 28 thermoformed machines and vacuum formed machines as our main production equipments. Furthermore, out Mould Workshop have more than 10 CNC digital control cutting machines, 2 machining centers and so on.
