Signning Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement among Alibaba, OSB and VCCI on Jan 15th, 2010

In the afternoon of Jan 15th, 2010, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (in abbreviation: VCCI) and Institute of Information Technology for Business (in abbreviation: ITB) signed the cooperation agreement with domestic and foreign partners to promote application of information technology (in abbreviation: IT) and E-commerce of local enterprises.
This cooperation program between VCCI and partners who signed in these agreements, is one of the activities of the National Scheme named “Support enterprises to apply IT in integration and development in the period 2005-2010” announcedby the Government and VCCI was assigned to the scheme.
In the ceremony, Alibaba.com, OSB JSC and VCCI signed the cooperation agreement to deploy the program named: “Support enterprises in Vietnam to export to APEC and Africa market by E-commerce” so as to promote bilateral trade between Vietnam and key markets and help to develop e-commerce in Vietnamese enterprises. 100 enterprises are chosen to use e-commerce tools on website Alibaba.com to advertise products, search for clients and sign on export contracts. E-commerce courses and workshops are also held to help them to gain knowledge, practice skills and accumulate experience in trading through e-commerce.
According to the speech of Hoang Van Dung, Deputy Director of VCCI, under the global economic crisis, programs like this become instant and necessary solutions for Vietnamese enterprises, contribute to their business development and help them to improve their competitive abilities, especially through E-commerce. This inevitable trend will also help Vietnamese enterprises to integrate deeply into the global economy.
